DAoC crashes on Win 2000

Hi im posting on behalf of a friend of mine. He's having issues when starting daoc, he has been able to reach the character creation screen but when he pushes "create new character" doac crashes and his PC is rebooting. It worked on his computer when he ran Win XP. But for some reasons he must have Win 2000 installed and suddenly daoc refuse to work.

Anyone else heard of this or can offer a solution?

512 RAM

1. Get all servicepacks & patches for W2k
2. Get DirectX9.0c
3. Get new ForceWare (drivers for your GF4, use nVidia ones, NOT the drivers from card manufacturer)
4. If previous doesn't help, reinstall DAoC.

indeed and i also seem to remember that daoc needs sp 4 to run (i use win200 currently)

i use windows 2000 and i can play fine but some times it oes crash maybe its due to my pc overhearing or something but win2,k isnt the problem as it dont show me any error loggs

Assuming everything is right with your PC, DAOC runs just fine under win2k. My buffbot machine ran DAOC under win2k for about 2years with no problems.

Gfx drivers imo.
