This is mainly aimed at Cornokz/Olga etc

I was wondering what the tax bands are, is it true if you earn over 500,000kr you get taxed at 68%, and the basic tax band is 42%?

Also i was wondering if you could shed some light on how much you can expect to earn as a starter, and experienced person in the following positions.

aviser
primary teacher (either english or IT)
gymnasium teacher (english or IT)
university lecturer (IT)
IT technician
IT web designer
police, fire, paramedic
support worker
social worker

tak.

The highest tax is around 58-59% as far as I remember. It all pretty much relies on how big your income is, where you live etc :)

as for the wages, I've got no idea :) however this page might give you a hand. http://www.lonstatistik.dk/lonninger.asp

What do you mean with Aviser? as a journalist, or sending them out?

Folkeskolelærer løn og lønstatistik pædagogik
Gymnasielærer løn og lønstatistik pædagogik
Universitetslærer løn og lønstatistik pædagogik

just tell me whether there's something you need translated :)

btw wonk, have you any idea how much tax i have to pay when i start earning. Apparently i wont have a tax band or something for the first year so should be lower?

Well, you're probably going to be paying about 40 %.. But the first 40 K are tax-free, most people spread them throughout the months so you have about 3 k tax free each month.

Primary teacher probably from 22-28 K depending on how long you've been there
Gymnasium teacher should be 25-30 K or something along the lines of that
