Thought this needed to be shared, and we figured it was the best way to say thankyou, publicize him all the more!
Last year we had a huge success when I comissioned him to do Serenity for Vae's birthday.........
http://www.jamesparker.co.uk/serenity.jpg
....turned out to be really fantastic and Vae was a very chuffed bunny. We've had numerous comments on it since, all of them favourable!

I had been thinking that she looked a little lonely up on the wall by herself, so this year I asked him to do another painting for Vae's birthday, an X Wing. Trusting to his better judgement to find a pic that was a good starting point I left him to it....and he produced this.....

To say Vae was/is happy, is an understatement. He looked like he had slept with a coathanger in his mouth!
Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou a million times over mate.....its better than we both could ever have imagined.....you really are brilliant.

(maybe the next one could be the falcon?!?)

Canvas is about 3' by 2'. It's a block canvas so no frame around it. Not sure exactly without measuring. Price I don't know as it was a present but suspect it was just under £100.

I'm all embarassed by such flattery! Never was any good at taking compliments!

Glad you like it though. It's always nice to take a break from painting people and paint something a bit different instead.

I won't confirm the exact price since it was a pressie, but I will say that I probably massively undercharge for the time involved since it's more of a hobby than a real source of income :) Next project is a big painting of a young Mick Jagger. Not a commission this time though, and I wouldn't call myself a Stones fan, I just really liked the source photo.

I can also confirm Arnie is great, got 2 pieces from him on a nice timescale at a decent price although I suspect I could have got a slightly lower price had I haggled!

I may try and get pics later today.

I have a Mini Cooper painting which Arnie 2T did which takes pride of place over my bed - it's awesome. He also then produced to paintings for a colleague of mine at work which are equally impressive... the guy was over the moon!

Don't usually like to bump old threads but I have to add my comments to this one. I just got a pic for my birthday and I wanted to say how incredibly amazing it is and how much I love it :)

Thanks indeed for the praise! It's been good to get painting commissions again. Since my business has been getting busier it's been hard to paint without feeling like I should be doing something more financially productive, so commissions are great :)

I've robbed the photo of the tie fighter painting for my portfolio by the way, hope you don't mind! My own attempts at photographing my paintings always turn out mediocre at best...

That'd be cool actually, thanks :)

Just need a few more commissions and my bank balance might actually say "CR" for the first time in years!

If i had the cash, i'd order one Mechwarrior style right away.

ust imagining the classic mad cat through fire in that style.

*thinks*

Actually i think i could pull one similar off in photoshop and print it out, even if not same class act, could suffice.

I should get the pics of the work you did for Henk and post them, Arnie - he was gobsmackingly delighted with them!

He actually sent me a couple pics a while back. The framer did a great job stretching the canvas back out. He must have a seriously nice pad, because that painting's 4 x 6 feet in size, but really doesn't look it...

haha, quality. I'd have hung around and stirred for a bit. There's nothing more selfishly amusing than dropping a mate in it :D

oh I did stir ;) she countered by holding her head in her hands while shaking her hair in front of her eyes. then I started on how much I want to shag my hairdresser ;) he just sat in my capitalist lap-dog fatboy beanbag looking like a lemon. then she played her trump by declaiming loudly that if he hadn't already had sex that day, she'd withhold it on principal. doomed they are I tells ya, doomed ;)

Those are really gorgeous works of art. If i was on the other side of the planet, i'd hit you up for a couple of Tron Lightcycles or The Last Starfighter.

Have you ever sold any of these on Ebay Arnie ?

I used to sell paintings on eBay and made quite good money from it. Now the category is bloated with crap and it's no longer worth it. It's just digital prints, stencil work, or sloppily painted stuff that hacks can dash out in an hour which they continuously relist and will paint again and again for as long as it sells. Seems to have put people off even bothering to look. I'd be lucky if I could get £30 for an original painting on eBay now :(

Plus I hate eBay. The charges are excessive and the number of non-paying bidders and time-wasters is downright annoying.
