I actually can do that effect whenever I want (no real reason I can see tho, whilst ground looks cool other gfx are distorted and ugly too). All you have to do is alt-tab out of DAoC when it's on the black loading screen (either before or when the loading bar is there) then go back in before it finishes loading. (This is as far as I can tell the only point where alt-tabbing out of DAoC doesn't crash it completely, found out by accident when stupid anti-virus prog popped up then and forced me out once ) It also fixes itself after about 15mins whether you log or not, atleast for me anyways

Yeah.... that's how it happened to me too
Just after my cousin said that alt+tab don't work... I accidentally did so during loading when I came out of Mithra.

i couldnt remember how i did it originally, just thought it was funky looking, but reading that was prolly same thing that happened to me
