dagger for a caster?

Twice, I've seen a caster with a dagger on their belt and not actually asked them what it was... is it some quest reward? Maybe I can get my eld to pass for a NS

it's that weapon you get as reward for the crafters quest iirc

the ones with +1 to quality and stuff

Actualy it just raises min qal to 95,
it doesnt increas the chance for a 99 or MP

technically it increases the chance of getting a 99 as only mp's have a lesser chance of happening 99 to the bottom all have an equal chance.

Your craft master in capital city gives it top you
you get a choise off 3 items at the end
1) 10 charges - raises min qual to 95%
2) 10 charges - increases craft speed 20% (not sure about percentage)
3) 10 charges - increase the chance off a skillup by 5% (not sure about percentage)


quest is repeatable
equip item and use it while crafting to use a charge

It's only 5 charges on the +qua items (6 charges on the higher quest), and I think the craftspeed item have something like 50 charges...

The higher quest, Tarnished tradeskill tools, (u can get it if u're above 600 skill and have done the first quest, Worn tradeskill tools), is a bit faster to do than the first, and gives more charges and a higher chance to gain (13 charges, 6% chance to gain) than the first. U get both quests at ur tradeskill master in TnN...

They are both repeatable as many times as u want, not too useful unless u're skilling something expensive (maxing out, alch/sc) or making legendary weps though, since they take a lil time to do

aaand looked it up and it work's as follows.

The new %-chance of getting a quality is recalculated when equiping an item like this. Due to not getting 94% ever again, the other quality's gain in %-chance to get.

So everything 95+ gets easier to make.


Also in regards to my above post: There is a smaller chance of getting a qua 99 item than getting a qua 95 item. (with or without an item like this, the (chance of 95/chance of 99) = always the same ratio)



PS: this has been a topic on grabbag atleast twice. Once in classic(basic crafter information) and once with the toa crafter items.

Untrue. It doesn't turn every 94 you get into a 95. It simply takes 94qua AWAY as a possibility and then increases the chance of EVERY other quality (with the SAME amount) until the total is once again 100%


(which is actually very logical cause why would anyone be arsed to get this if all that happens is ur useless 94's are turned into equally useless 95's and u still get the same amount of 96/97/98/99/mp as u used to? There would be no point in having this item now would there? )

A staff hit do more dmg than the knife tbh so not wurth the trouble if you plan to make a melee eldritch
