yes, three times as fast.

usually a 1.5kb/s (crap, what it used to be) is not about 3-5kb/s ~ 300%

get it and see

I am on the closed BETA for jumpgate and it is downloading at 0.7 kb/s on ISDN (the server is maxxed out /me thinks)

The file is 77 megs to clarify.

Yes work it out, that is a hellova lot of hours.

nope but the fact that the server is maxxed out wouldn't make a difference. other wise i would be getting 8kb/s +

I've had it b4, the only reason you do well out of it is your poor setup, I can't get any more than 7.5Kbs on a single channel ISDN no matter what I use :)

erm. hazzeryoda. you can't fit more than one pint of liquid...into a pint glass. No matter what these programs claim, all they do is alter your MTU and RWIN settings, to optimise them for long downloads.

You'll find that for general web-srufing, where you are recieving multiple small files at once (pics, text, html, flash, etc) that your performance will be worse than ever.

There is no such thing as a free lunch

erm, noooooo.
my MTU and RWIN setting are exactly the same.
Embattle is right and it just highlights the poorness of my modem by changing from crap to good. Its not exceeding anything or breaking anybarriers, just cutting corners here and there. getting best connection, making multiple connections etc etc.

well, anyway, ive found a great increase and so im sticking with it.

i believe there was also such a thing a stream compression. that was another clever ruse as to parting you from your money =p

if you want a phat pipe(tm) to the internet you will have to get cable/dsl/microwave/T-class/DC-class or OC-class running to your home. there is nothing else for it.

nothing else _really_ works. accept it.

i got a microwave, but the dl's were really shit.

I'd type the ip of the dl in but it would just hum and spin for about 20 days....

anyone know whats wrong?

maybe it's in the wrong port?

:D

Download 'managers' sound like things that look for a good server with the file you want, and then download it from there. Useless to those who take care where they download files from.
