Cut-Off times

They suck ass, even though MY FS evening and weekend package is wicked, good pings etc, they suck royal ass because when I'm playing CS some times I lose my connection and have to reconnect, whats the point in cutting me off in the first place.

I know why they're there, its to stop people leaving their computers connected to the net but I reckon inactivity timers should be used to sort this, yes I do about the programs that stop these from working.

BT 0800 never cuts me off.

Netgames UK cuts me off about once every 4-5 hours.

/me wishes I was even in the realm of getting an unmetered ISP here in Dublin.

hehe, you guys think you are screwed in the UK. Our BT equivalent has just announced pricing proposals to allow other telcos operators access to local loop for ADSL and guess what, its Eur484 per annum connection fee, plus Eur32 per month line rental. Note this is to other telcos - not to the end consumer so by the time they have added on profit margins........

But when we finally do get some broadband going, I know I am going to h8 cutoff times with a vengeance

You won't have to worry 'bout cut-offs if you get adsl, it's a permenant connection m8

well until you use £40 worth of calls a month, ADSL is not really all that worth it until it comes down in price, but then i would say that because i canna afford it

Well, adsl is within £10 of isdn, and it's loads better... I don't think the price will be coming down for a while

cm's are ok and give a very good ping and no cut off, and do not give you that much more playing pleasure. but you can have more pron live cams open at the same time lol.

I'm on bt and dont get cut off either, which is nice

Metinkz if j00 has ISDN on BT0800 you're ok, on a modem tho you're off every 2 hrs and you're off near enuff dead on 12 midnight too

I remember when you used to be able to dial up the ISDN number on ya modem, it woz cool then Then it didn't work no mo'... boohoo etc
