Sent my digital camera box and leads back home in January, I didnt need to lug them round everywhere.

Anyway I finally decide I should stop being lazy and transfer the files I still have on my camera to my pc, so I open the box look for the usb lead and it isnt there.

Customs examined it on the way in, charged me £12 for sending a box some manuals and a usb lead into the country, and didn't re-pack the lead. Wankers.

too bad... I know you can't just buy any usb lead, they have to be custom therefore EXPENSIVE!!

Not just the usb lead, the video lead is missing too.

I am going to try Meaty, but it was back in January, so I am not holding out for much except maybe an apology.

Without going off and checking the laws that govern Customs, but could that not be described as 'theft'?

Of course, there's probably some loophole that allows them to be exempt from any criminal charges, but its worth investigating

Aye these taxes suck. I ordered a couple of t-shirts from thinkgeek.com. They cost nearly 30 quid for a start incl P+p. But when UPS showed up they wanted a further 21 quid to cover import taxes. Well the taxes were less than a tenner, the rest was "administration fee". Bastards.
