An official Rubik's one ?

Do him a favour and get him an Eastsheen chinese clone cube. Rubik's == suck.

for a 4x4 he'll need to know (from memory)...

i used to be able to do it in under a minute ( depending on the start position)

It was a memory feat, nothing more.

My auntie gave me the barrel version to do but it was still a 4X4 so was as easy as a cube.

Spent ages hunting for the good ones that spin freely

Slickest cubes would be:

2x2: Eastsheen
3x3: Chinese Type A/D
4x4: Eastsheen
5x5+: V-Cube

I can get under a minute for 3x3 now but I average about 1:10.

Need to learn more algorithms

I've never done the secret solve that makes the Spice Girls appear. The odd Cenobite but no Spice Girls.
