Said it a couple of times: CTD usually means application trying to access memory it doesn't have allocated (hence no rights) and the OS will shut it down then.

So prolly just broken pointers in the game, has nothing to do with the network.

I blame bright wizzies

Sad thing is AoC on full settings is more stable for me than WaR is currently

Fair enough, but my point was that overall since the day the game went live I have hardly ever CTD'd on the mythic servers (only three or four times) and on GoA servers, pretty much every time I play.

Strangely I also experience a lot fewer lag spikes on mythic servers as a UK player. I work strange hours too, so often on mythic at primetime and GoA at primetime, and the difference is frankly astonishing sometimes. That being the case, it still suggests that there is an anonomly somewhere that has less to do with patches and more to do with a hardware or network issue - I am the first to admit I could be wrong, just seems like simple logic to me.

it's possible in your case it's something to do with how you're connecting to the servers - but I've only been suffering from CTDs since yesterday's patch (the same hotfix causing problems on the US servers)

Possibly, but tbh quite unlikely.

What GFX card do you have? I am tempted to resub for a month and have a check.

This is the system I built just as AoC was released
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX
Quad core Intel Q6600
Maximus Formula mobo
4gig RAM
running 64bit Vista

Resubbed to AoC at the weekend
The gem nerf has certainly put a whole new spin on combat
But scuppered my korts-esque socketing/crafting planner, :(
anvil
especially with the PvP armours available and "temporary" stats for gems

Maybe, I'll tweak it for WaR instead now and give my nerd-side something to do when bored :D

Overall the coding in WAR suck BIGTIME.

My pc is:
E8400 @ 3.45Ghz
4GB PC1066 DDR2
Zotac GFX260 AMP2

Tbh, Crysis at highest res and everything maxed run smoother then this game on medium roaming the starting area alone..

Thats just really bad

I am running a E6600, with 4 PC800 Gigs of RAM and a 8800 GT gfx card. The game runs fine @1680*1050 in max details. Keep warfare with a lot of people involved gives me low (around 15 I guess) fps spikes, but apart from those spikes, normal play and scenarios are smooth at guessed 30+. Your specs are way higher than mine so I dont understand why you got a problem at all...

Have you tried running in windowed mode at full resolution without border (so it looks as if it was fullscreen mode)? Worked a good deal for me and wonders for friends I told it about.

Q6600 @ 3.2ghz
8800GT (512MB)
4GB xms2 ram
raptor hard drive

and the game still runs like a dog at 1680 x 1050.
Just to give you an idea, crysis is fine at 1920 x 1200 @ high-med detail.

In fairness, the last time i played was a couple of weeks since...so maybe something has changed - but I doubt it. No ctd's either at that stage, cant even be bothered playing now to check.

WAR just doesn't seem well coded (Not that I could do better)

Anyway, no idea why I'm complaining, just thought it'd be helpful to add some more simular specs to the mix :p

Anyone remember the hl2 stuttering issue? Reminds me of that, people with shithot rigs would get the problem, yet my piece of shit rig would play it fine

edit: oh and i tried windowed, fullscreen, lower res, different graphics drivers, different cpu speed (incase oc was the problem) still no luck
