CS7 connecting problem

Hmmmm.......annoying problem. When I load CS from my desktop shortcut (as per normal)and update/refresh the server list etc, etc and then try to join a game I get the normal console connecting screen but then after server acceptance it hangs. It just stays on the console screen at whatever point it reached.
Strangely, I can play CS7 via Mplayer (don't laugh) with no problems other than a fair amount of lag.
Also, my hard drive refuses to de-frag now that CS7 is on it.

Any ideas gang???

Sounds like your hd is full. Try deleting the custom.hpk file from the cs dir, and also experiment with different video modes, and turning the sound off.

Best joining an empty server while ur checking this out.
