Somebody teach me how to play this game

I can play it yeah, but jesus christ i cant kill shit. Whats the tactics, tricks and stuff? how should i aim etc, you know, the normal shit. !

Best bet I find is to learn how to use the AK and/or M4. Get on your own server with a load of bots, set them to use knives only, learn to fire one/two shot bursts with the AK/M4 and you'll get there before long.

Once you've got the aiming down forget bots altogether though, and dont learn to fight bots with weapons because human players are completely different - bots struggle to hit you if you stand still where as real players are obviously the opposite. Tactics that work on real players wont work as well on bots, so its just not worth getting used to bots and having to re-learn the game online.

Tactics are really overrated untill you know the maps imo. If you can learn the layout of Dust2, Italy, Nuke, Aztec, Office and maybe Piranesi then you'll soon find that you get kills because you know where the enemy starts and roughly where they are headed.

As for tactics, let the noobs go first around corners on publics, if they get shot the enemy will show up on radar so you can know roughly where the enemy is. Look at the stats and watch what the better players do and where they go etc. Spec them when you get killed, watch how they aim and when they use flashbangs/nades.

Dont crouch too often - you seem to get headshotted easily when crouched and your movement is slow. Practice being able to strafe one or two steps, shoot, strafe, shoot, strafe, shoot, etc. If you can learn to do that accurately you'll find human players struggle to hit you, bots arent affected as well with this though, one of the reasons I never play against bots anymore.

If you have to spray then lower the crosshair to the floor below your enemy because the shots go crazily high.

With the AWP the trick is not to move at all when you shoot. even the slightest leftover momentum from previous movement can throw your shot by miles.

Best bet is just to learn to aim against weaponless bots, then once you can consistantly kill them in the first 4 shots with an M4/AK, go online and try again Its all practice though, knowing what the enemy will do before he does it, which side to aim, how to shoot, when to throw nades, its just about getting practice in. after a few hours of getting owned you will - if you are learning from mistakes - start getting a few more kills.

I'll be online from 6-7ish tonight if you want to have a mess around on a server - that ARK clan one I posted above might be the best bet for a start, friendly players who will give advice if you need it

i always stick to 12 player or less servers, big servers are just about stalls on corners where if u make a move u get shot by 20 ppl.

on small 5v5 serevrs u use tactics and alot of it is out smarting enemy, let bots go first if there is any on your team and it will give the enemys position up, camp an area which they will run past (or throw that flash to flash them).. then its just about aiming at their head and killing...

when shooting, strafe side to side but u need to stand still for that very split second you shoot, it just needs practice.... try not to spray with the ak or you wont hit shit, not even from 1meter away

Thanks for your help. Yeah tonight sounds pretty good, i actually came fourth on a zerg map, had like 34 kills or something.

I'll do the bot thing now, surely loads of bot mods about!

I will be around tonight, if you want to have a bit of a play around. As a beginner I would suggest playing on large servers, 40-50 players if you machine can handle it.

The reason I suggest this is that there is no better practice than running around every corner knowing that there will be an enemy there. after playing a few hours on these servers, you will come to appreciate flashing before you go round, walking in stead of running to minimise chances of being heard.

You need to find your preferred play style. A lot of the good players on public servers let the noobs run ahead then follow and pick up the remains.

Once you know the maps you can choose whether you want to be defensive/aggresive/offensive.

Generally, fremen speaks lies! ak can spray rly, source has next to no recoil so you should be alright. and you dont need to sit still at all to kill anyone, u can just keep moving to avoid being shot ;d

you just need gamesense, listen for footsteps, know where they are coming from, pick a position wisely, don't stay in the same spot if its 1v3 etc.

don't play bots after about a day imo, they are shit & fremen plays bots to make himself look good.

just play normal small scale servers.

lol such a liar... you cannot spray with the ak... your meant to fire it in bursts of 3 if possible (takes a little skill which u dont have)... your first shot is bang on with accuracy, after that u may aswell not aim.. (if u spray with ak aim down)..

if you wanna spray with the ak (which is a bad idea) aim to the ground/feet. Just aim your first shot to the head, after some practice its basically instakill
