Runs perfectly nice on a A64 3200 6600gt 1gig ddr 400.

turn the setting down and see if it makes a diff
thats way above the spec needed, so do the usual spyware, virus scan, defrag etc etc

I'd say your low RAM is causing any FPS dips, aim for 1gig-ish. ive got 2gig and i still get fps dips occasionally.


Seperate topic:- how many people here in OT play CS:S? I wouldnt mind joining a casual clan.. I dont really play any games anymore, but a few PCW's in the evening would help me relax.

according to the box you only need 256mb ram lol, recommended 512

Well, its lowest settings, and cs:s doesn't need more ram that 512. Its not like its loading from the hdd while im playing. But yeah, might be some spyshizzle...

But! There might also be some setting in the bios thats not properly configured. It's not my computer so i havent really checked into it, coupled with my inexperience with p4 systems (never owned the damn thing hehe)

Well, a lack of ram shows by almost completely framestop due to the game waiting on the hdd to bring back some data from the pagefile. Not generally low framerate.

Create an account

Then just purchase CS:S, think its about £12 or so, then you download it (takes a while but just leave it on overnight)
