CS Lan Server'ing Question

I use LAN Multiplayer a lot, and i am the Server..

I was told that the *LISTENSERVER* File in the CStrike Directory, is like an Autoexec for Server Commands and such forth..

So, i went round Internet Servers, collected a few Commands which i would use on the Net... things such as:

mp_tkpunish (#)
mp_hostagepenalty (#)

and so on... but with the two which i am showing here, it doesnt seem to do anything...

When i do a TK against BOTs, it just says halfway thru the next round "You are not allowed to play this round, because you TK'd last round"... but i am playing it???

And when i kill Hostages (About 3) it says, if i kill one more Hostage, i will be kicked... (I tried both as the Server, and one as a player, just incase the Server couldnt be kicked..)

Does anyone have any idea how to get em workin???

do u run the server as deadicated from a commandline? or from the ingame menus?

if u do it from a command line add the variables u want to the "server.cfg" file.

nope.. the Server isnt a Dedicated one, just a normal LIstenServer.... but you think i still have to edit the server.cfg file to make the Commands work?

i would, i haven't played around much with CS servers yet - QW servers were more my thing. Since it is essentially the same game engine and the commands are similar add them to the server.cfg file in the CS dir and se what happens
When i added the "lan only connections" variable to my server.cfg my mates in the outside world couldn't connect to the server i was running off my server/dialup box - so i gues they do work

have u checked out http://server.counter-strike.net for more info??

ignore that last post of mine
i was thinking of deadicated servers

if your running a listenserver as yourself, tried typeing in those extra bits into the console? does that even work?

if your creating the "server" from ingame - the "advanced" page (maybe page 2 ) from the "create" option has a tick box for kick/ban TK's and other such pillocks
