Cs and Voice

Sorry if this thread bothers you but I need to figure this out !

In Counter-Strike I cant get the mic to work ?? I have seen all of the choices in Cs but there all proper, i tryed to add d_sound +1 into the target but that didnt work !!???


Anybody have anymore ideas ???

theres a mic config util in your sierra/half life startmenu. You can increase the volume there.

Unless of course you have the retail version.

Also, try pluggin your mic into the mic port and NOT the line in port ;)

Have you assigned a key to voice comms? k by default I think.

The mic config prog is with the retail version also, its more or less identical to HL, except no single-player element.

Make sure that windows can detect the sound card, fire up sound recorder and see if you can record yourself screaming jibberish down the mic.

It's also possible that your mic is working, often people with new mics think they are not working because there isn't a speaker symbol next to their name but you never see a speaker symbol next to your own name; just a thought;)

no you shouldn't, the best way to test it is to play cs, hold down the speak key and talk, then type 'can anybody hear me?'. Try it a few times in case they are arsing about and not answering.
