crush or slash

ok so i made a halfogre merc last week specced it crush and twinked it with some random drops bought in housing and proceeded(sp?) to pwn cotswold and now im soon lvl 40 and now the question is should i stay crush or respecc to slash? Crush gives u the followup to the taunt wich is 6 sec stun and in those 6 sec i get 1 hit in good for positionals etc but if i respecc slash i get amethyst and diamond slash @ 50 so wich is better slash or crush ?
