Sadly the time has come to write this and yes its going to be a self indulgent post, so leave now if you cant stand it, but please indulge me for a while.
Crusaders of Albion was formed one week after retail release. We were just a bunch of friends who had played Beta together. We had no pretensions and no wishes but to just play with our friends. We didnt want to be large or uber we just wanted to be a friendly family unit.
And that I guess was the reason behind our success, because we were succesfull, succesfull beyond all our imaginations.
Yes we had problems, we had falling outs, breakups and splits. But we also had fun, lots of fun.
I was proud to both lead and be lead by CoA. I was proud of the way the guild conducted itself on relic raids and other major occasions. They followed the rules and did the job. Tell them to be in a place and they were there, tell them to change plans and they did.
Sadly though all good things come to an end, and this to all intents and purposes is Crusaders of Albion's end. The name the colours, the house in Waterford will live on. But to all intents and purposes the guild will from now on be mainly populated with sentimental alts.
To all members, past and present, I wish good luck in the paths and guilds you have chosen, and thanks for the memories you helped create.
We had some great times as CoA but will just have to have great times as friends from different guilds in the future. I've met some of you and still hope to meet more in the future.
Proudest CoA moment ? - Well there are so many, but I guess what always immediately springs to mind is the original Emain group. The dethspam they generated was immense and they perfected a few things which continue today.
Most embarrasing ? - Is easy 2FG of us died afk whilst we waited to attack Hib relic keep. And seeing the screenshots all over Barrysworld.
I've not mentioned any individual names as that would take forever, there are just so many that would deserve it, and believe me its hard not to start and if I started with one it would go on forever. But they were all humble people, they didnt go running to Barrysworld to boast or complain. They just got on and played the game for enjoyment. Some of them were stars in there class whereas others were just good guys (and gals ). But they all helped create the guild that was Crusaders of Albion.
So this is CoA signing off as an active guild. The name and the memories live on but the cloak will rarely fly anymore.
Thank you for allowing my indulgence.
