Anyone knows how Critical hits are affected? Are they random or are they style-based? I've noticed that I critical hit often with the lvl 50 axe style ''Tyr's Fury''. I know that Mastery of Pain gives more chances of critical hits.

Its a base % to crit.. and mop add 3% to that per lvl
dunno about style/nonstyle what that affects the chance, dont think that tyrs have a bigger %


Well 50 axe is a good way to go anyway :clap:

base melee crit is 5 or 10% cant remember now.

on casters its on DD the base, not dots or debuffs, or anything what is duration based.


wild arcana is giving 5%+ / lvl those duration spells ( base 0%)
mastery of pain 5%+/lvl melee (base is there allrdy )
and also those buffs/heals has 1 skill to make crits.
and 1 was to DD's also , 5%+/lvl (has base also )

I'm not 100% sure, but it seems to me that the amount of critical damage you do does increase as you have a higher lvl of Mastery of Pain, or Falcon Eye, etc. So not just the % chance you have of getting a critical off.

I agree 100%

though I think it's got NOTHING what so ever to do with style/nonstyle .. I tried it out once, and I crit hit just as much with styles as without ... so nothing with the styles-thingy ... styles are just for the looks and the to-hit, bleed, stun etc. :)

afaik crits are not affected by styles no. But you will see you crit more while buffed than if not buffed

crits are 5% base for dds/melee 0% base for dots/debuffs

+5% from some RAs

The amount of the crit is:
1-100% for DDs/Melee in PvE
1-50% for DDs/Melee in RvR

1-100% for DoTs (pve or RvR - nasty)
100% for debuffs.


for melee the crit is based off the whole swing damage - so if you style for 120 on a hit of 80 (getting a total of 200) you can crit upto 100 in RvR.

Ok,

Base crit for dds/melee are 10%, mastery of pain adds 5% for melee, wild power adds 5% for dds.

There is no base chance for a dot to crit, u have to get wild arcana for that, and it raises with 5% each level.

Dex have NOTHING to do with something that have a % to crit in this game.

Flim you need to do your homework btw ;)

Max you can crit is 49% of your actual damage, when you removed all penaltys or added all bonuses you got, here is an example:

You hit for 400 (-124) damage,

in that situation your max crit would be 49% of 400, wich is 196 damage.

It's not 49% it's 50%-1. So in the above example the manimum is 199. Similarly in PvE (and dots and vendo zerkers in RvR) the max is 100%-1.
Also I think your level vs target level affects chance to crit.

well dex would affect it in that you cast faster so more casts = more crits :D but its not a factor in the %

tyka is right btw from what i see

however i think crits on debuffs and snares work somewhat differently seeing as you can 99%snare someone with a critical snare...

nah was nerfed to 1-100% a while ago, have crit for XX dam on a 600+ hit before, ratmoded.. and its been like that for quite a while noW :>






btw, someone said MoPain = 5%, thats wrong, its 3%..

and btw find me some zerker that crit for 100% their base dmg and ill give u a medal, same with if u find some regular class who crit for 50%.

anyways i think it does not matter? lol

Crits must be up to 100%, have hit for 99.5% crits before

Mastery of Pain Passive N/A 1 3 6 10 14 Augmented Dexterity 2 Increases chance to critical with melee attacks by 5% per level.

there are "base crits" that cap at 99% of the base damage

mastery of pain produced crits are capped at 50% of the base damage

basically mopain is a waste :p the base crits have a greater possibility to be biiig
