my comp crashes at times. quite often. in fact, i just missed ml4 raid because it crashed every 2 minutes. it's a decent comp (3,2 gz 64bit etc) and the thing is that it blinks and crashes...i dont get low fps or anything. suddenly it just blinks once and then i have to reset...

i think its the stupid directx9.0c when i had 9.0b i didnt have a problem at all.
do u think i can return to 9.0b somehow?

thanks for the replies m8, but this really aint gonna help...
i cant format anymore, because i have very much important data in disk... if i could i would already have done so. and the compatibility is not an issue, because i could play just fine b4 i installed 9.0c...

One thing that is worth trying is to force a full file check when patching. Just in case something on file is corrupt/missing.

It may also be worth checking you've not got something else running in the background causing problems. I run without live anti-virus checking on the camelot directories (though I do a scheduled scan to compensate), to reduce the chance of that interfering.

if using Windows XP, and u wana do a file check , do the following in start > run :

sfc /scannnow

As for having the problem, i had a very similar one, again i was using 9.0c , and i'm using it now , however i changed the revison of the GFX drivers i usualy use , and no problems these days =)

best to make sure that it happens in other games ( Like HL2) as well
