Maybe it is a good idea to have a seperate board for crafting. There is one for RvR for each realm. Whilst we may not have to go down the lines of www.daoctradeskills.com with one for each skill, it might be good to swap tips, place orders, etc.

Sounds pretty good to me, though crafted stuff does not seem to be pretty accepted in europe at the moment.

Well, I'm on my way to 500 in weaponcraft :D

But omg, 801? For some reason its taking me AGES to get a few points at 450+ (it took me 2 hours or so to get from 468 to 478)

Am I just having bad luck or? (is it gonna get even worse?)

See it as some form of meditational Zen exercise. That helps. Fatalism helps too. And stubbornness. And good books. Or a TV next to the computer.

Don't forget to get your clothworking up to 200. You need that to make siege weapon parts.

I wont need that if we have a tailor in the guild, right? (Please, right? :p )

No, you the weaponcrafter need to have a clothworking skill of 200 minimum to be able to craft siege engine parts like spring arms for ballistae. You can powerlevel yourself up fairly quickly doing puppets, or doing low level tailoring, but you do need to do it at some point if you want to be useful makeing siege engine stuff :)

I dont think so Alrindel. I made all kinds of siege equipment when I was at 500 skill, but at that time only my fletching was at around 100-200ish. I could do every part if I remember correctly. I only started armorcraft and tailoring at about 680 skill.

I promise you I'm not making it up. If you try to make a ballista spring arm with a weaponcrafting of 500 and a clothworking of 1, it will tell you that your clothworking is not high enough. I know because I got caught that way myself shortly after I hit 500. When Urca asked me to make him one so he could try out a Scorpion. I told him I could do it no problem and was very dismayed to find out that I couldn't.

Several hundred puppets and a couple of hours later, I could.

Later I confirmed that this was not a bug, and that other people had been caught out too (which is why I'm warning you now): http://pub96.ezboard.com/fdarkageofcamelottradeskillsfrm6.showMessage?topicID=43.topic

Very strange. I am sure that I had zero training in clothwork at weaponcraft 500, and yet I made these things. Could it be that this is one of the many crafting problems Hibernia faces? Or is my memory seriously bugged?

It will be up to the site owners I suppose to make the forum but at least well populated thread with encouragement for it may show enough support for one.

Thanks for all the replies

huh? I have 300(even more if I recall correctly) cloth now, and it still moans about it's not high enough.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I'm talking specifically about weaponcrafters who already have 500+ weaponcrafting. Normally a weaponcrafter never raises clothworking: we need metalworking, leatherworking and woodworking to make weapons. But to make some siege engine parts, we also need a minimum 200 clothworking as well as the 500 weaponcrafting. I don't know about fletchers or armourcrafters and what they need.

nah not you having bad luck, after 415 it slowed down.
And i dont understand why crafting isnt popular in europe, read on a tradecrafter forum where they didnt understood that ppl ran around in glowing swords with qua 89%. Kinda agree on that, would be better with an 16,2 dps arcanium broadsword with 98% qua :p (although not in europe yet) And you need 1000 in Wc to make em <sigh>
