The demo is on marketplace. You can get acheivements that unlock in the full game from the demo, it also allows 4 player co-op.

Not sure I like the freaks by night thing, but Crackdown is back :D how I've missed it. Possibly the best first gen Xbox 360 game gets a sequel.

Game is out on the 12th, you better all be getting it!

The demo is weird for sure. It feels different to the original, maybe you are right, the streets feel empty. It's also lost some of the comic book appeal of the original. The increased levelling and time limit constraints of the demo don't help though.

Day and night come to soon.

Never played the original - am I right in thinking it's a GTA clone?

Nope definately not a GTA clone, plays very very differently even if some of the ideas do crossover.

I played the demo earlier today, and it felt soooo empty :( It's a shame, as I absolutely LOVED the first one.

And no, it's not a GTA clone. They're both sandbox games in a big city, but that's about it really :)

I did enjoy the demo, though the time constraint meant I rushed through everything, to get as much as possible done. It seems the levelling is speeded up for the demo. Probably will end up buying it. I like the idea of the freaks, but didn't meet any in the demo until I went into one of their nests, I thought it was good that during the night the freak nests are less populated.

At night, there weren't any freaks, had nothing but gang members all day and night, the voice over said to watch out for freaks, but all that came were more gang members. Didn't meet a single freak till I went to their nest.

Did you walk the street or stay in the warehouse district where you spawn? The freaks are on the city street outside of the warehouse / docks.

That may explain it, I stayed within the warehouse district. Going to give it another go tonight and do leave the area to find them.

You didn't get very far with the demo missions if you stayed within the docks!

Reviews are coming out, and they aren't positive! I'll skip it I think.

I read the review on ars, but gamerankings has links to a bunch. Mostly they say there's not enough variation in the gameplay and that you repeat the same two missions over and over.

Seen alot of reviews saying that it is more like Crackdown 1.5 rather than a true sequel. The Multiplayer seems to be the shining point of the game whilst the single player is more of the same. Will still get it, I enjoyed the single player from the first one and will be addicted to collecting orbs once again.

Oh god, the thing I loved about the first game was the missions. They have totally fucked up according to those reviews. I do not fancy playing the SP at all if you only have to activate beacons and defend. What the hell is wrong with the developers? All they ahd to give us was more of the same, gangs, silly bosses, fun, varied missions.

I suspect it's the alleged 8 month development time that's lead to no variety!

From the looks of the latest releases it would seem that Realtime Worlds (with the subsequent split in to Ruffian Games -i know they're classed as two developers now but they're of the same blood as far as i'm concerned) has lost any credibility they gained from Crackdown in one fell swoop.

I was looking forward to both APB and Crackdown 2, but both are apparantly mediocre/bland (character customisation in APB aside).

Shame really :(

I'm probably going to return mine to GAME once the postman delivers, based solely on the vast swath of unfavourable reviews. Will pick it up cheap pre-owned, or maybe even rent it.
