Getting bad CPU lag every 5-10 mins for 10-15 secs while in daoc. Currently running:

AMD Dual Core 6400+
4gb 1066 memory
Nvidia 9800gt

Win7 Ultimate.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

To offer actual help, Rich from my guild had a similar problem and it turned out it was packet losses caused by his ISP.

You considered that?

Can you explain actually what's happening? A lot of people have issues telling the difference between lag types. :( So what you may think is 'CPU' lag, may be ISP issues or GPU lag. Hell, even memory issues.

Well im saying CPU lag as the monitor on my G15 kb says the CPU is @ 100% when the "lag" kicks in.

Almost exact same spec as my lappy but i have an intel p8600 processor :D

To help performance make sure its tweaked to the top in your power settings and if dual logging use seperate clients for the 2 accounts also on bot account do /clientsleep minimized and id normally set set affinity for 1 core to each account but sems cant do that anymore so thats about it .

Also if the cpu lag is for afew seconds every few minutes chances are your cpu is overheating :flame:

60-65C is close to the throttle though Appollo.

To my understanding it isnt a laptop, can you confirm/deny this?

Err those numbers are waaaay off. Any (desktop) CPU running above 70C is wrong.

AMD Processors for Desktops: AMD Phenom?, AMD Athlon? FX, AMD Athlon? X2 Dual-Core, AMD Athlon?, and AMD Sempron? Processor

I take it it's that one?

If so: Max Temps (C) 55-63

Although i find that a bit low again. Anyways imho if your cpu goes above 65-70c i'd do something about it. Running electronics too hot in general shortens their lifespan.

Repped as teh correctz0r's, seems win7 makes cpu run hotter as xp was fine, silly billy gates :(
