Hi
So, for some time my CPU fan hasnt started when i boot my pc. it was not a problem till recently however, when it decided to wait for a good 3-4 mins (before that it was around 20 seconds).

I have a duo2 core 3ghz on a Gigabyte motherboard if thats any help.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Could be something in your BIOS. Had a look round there? Maybe a temperature setting or a timer or something. If you know what you are doing you could reset your BIOS back to its default settings.

Or have you tried a different fan in your machine? Or even your fan on a different machine?

Its a setting in the BIOS, auto speed setting or smt, its meant to keep your cpu at a constant temprature, so it'll wait til you cpu get to like 60degees until your fan kicks in.
