A question before I post this... When does a game/event become an actual "sport"? i.e can darts be seen as a sport?

The Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) world tour is due to kick off in mid-February, with 10 events lined up around the globe offering the players the chance to win $50,000 per round. The winner of the final will also get there hands on $150,000.

Aaron Foster and David Treacy will be leading the fight for the UK. The pair recently joined Four-Kings Intel, one of the UK's few pro-gaming teams after being crowded kings in a recent tournament of Painkiller.

"There are a lot of people who take gaming very seriously and support their local or national team with the same passion as any other sport," said Simon Bysshe who filmed the Painkiller event for Four-Kings and Intel.

More than 80,000 people have downloaded the movie of the tournament highlights.

"Professional gaming is here to stay and will only grow in popularity," he said.
Do you agree or disagree? Can professional gaming ever become as popular as main stream sports?
