Counter Strike Dont Work!

Hey guys could u help me? see the problem is my cs retail game out of half life generation box does not work, i install and it says get the latest patch, so i get 1.5 (retail) and when i install it gets say half way and then locks up :S any ideas?

Hmm I had this prob when I forst did this...now let me think :wall:
are you running anything else at the same time? If so close evrything down and try that.

Where did you get the patch from? BW?

nonononono Half life generations is retail CS and therefore needs only the retail patches.

If it locks up part way through, prob best to dload it again and try then :|


/edit Perhaps u downloaded the cs1.5 patch that was meant for people with half life. The cs retail one is 1.0.0.5 or something like that, the link ^^ will tell ya

Yeah its 1.0.0.5 you need.

/me slaps Debaser as Adz has already.

If you do have the right patch according to Adz link, try upgrading to a previous version first, then using the smaller incremental patches up to 1.0.0.5

In my defence, I have the Generations pack and tbh it's much easier to simply patch Half Life and then download and install the latest CS mod 1.5 (which is what I meant to say in my original post :eek: )

You might as well try if all else fails, wont cost you owt :)

Costs you about 300meg in harddrive space, and a lot of extra downloading.
