Counter-Strike Crashes for no reason

Hey all

I am having a problem with my Counter-Strike

I have Windows ME and have a networked computer (Im the client).
When I join any server on Counter-Strike I get into the game and the consle crashes half way and the whole computer stops responding and crashes and I have to reset my computer.
This happens nearly everytime I start Counter-Strike.
I have tried deleting the sierra file and doing a fresh install of Half-Life and Counter-Strike and this has had no effect.
I have all the updates and everything so it should work.


Can any 1 help me!?

Do you have a firewall? The only time I get a crash like that is when HL can't connect, because my firewall is blocking it.

Obviously something isnt working fine, its probably just scrwed up ICS though.

try lowering the res you use, if it still does it when the console raises then look at temperatures...

my mates was doing that but only really in high resolutions...

eventually he got a zalman northbridge cooler and whack a fan on it and he hasnt crashed since, his nbridge was overheating

maybe the 30-60 seconds loading he is mistaking for crashing :/

In that case, delete custom.hpk from ur cs dir
