Could not connect with master server' PLEASE HELP!

I'm a die hard UT fan. However, i just could not resist the temptation any longer so i just forked out my 30 squid for a copy of Q3A. Smart game sure, but i'm having a real problem. Athough i have managed a couple of online games via Wireplay (poo) whenever i go into the mutiplayer menu, and choose 'internet', i can never connect to the master server. I am fairly experienced at netplay so i don't need to be told to check i'm connected to the internet etc. I have reinstalled many times and aplied the latest patchs. I have been to a few web sites but can never find any reference to this problem but maybe i'm just looking in the wrong places.
Anyway, what and where is the Q3A master server?
Please help or it back to UT forever!

The Q3 Master server is controlled by Quake3World I believe, it sometimes goes dead.

Check to see ur network connection and set it to the correct setting, I had this problem when I play on my home LAN, then swap to play on the net.

Your best bet is not to bother with the in-game browser and install GameSpy (www.gamespy3d.com) which will give you a range of master servers to get a list from, including the BW Master which generally only lists UK and EU servers.

I have found out from some other forums that the master server was down for a few days so everyone was having the same problem.
