As for the bioengineering. I'd be surprised if they used microbes in the wild on this. The unknowns could be huge.

Like what? What they do is no different than growing yeast cells for baking bread. The bacteria already exists in the wild and the cultivated "product" is used by all sorts of waste treatment companies. I would say there are very few unknowns as it has been proven safe and effective.

'cause, like a chief executive, BP are responsible for the actions of their sub-contractors and are duty bound to police their actions.

BP failed in its responsibility to do this. The buck stops with them.
