Just realised my blog count is 159, I post a new item about each book I read though only the books I read for fun, not books I have read more than once or uni text books (there have been quite a few of those!) I started the blog almost 3 years ago (29/01/08).

I knew I read quite a bit but did not realise I read that much lol...and that's on top of all the socialising and gadding about I've been up to in the past few months too ^^

Is this normal? What is the average FHOT rate of read?

One a month on average. I usually read a book in a week if I'm into it.

Hmm, about 0.5 a year I think.

/edit: I do tend to get Calvin and Hobbes from the library when going on vacation. Does that count?

It depends really, I usually have two on the go, a new one which I read quite quickly and then one I have in the bathroom which I have already read. I can get through a book in a few days if its good.

I don't always have one on the go though, only if its something I like.

i read quite a lot (all shelves in house are sprawling with books) but not so much recently, i have been going more for the "lazy" option of TV and movies :p

also i lack good books to read, or the monies to buy more :(

I used to read more when I left school, but now its only a series I read. Like Harry Potter or Chronicles of Narnia and Godfather trilogy etc.

If I was to read books more they would 95% of time be, Crime thrillers and Gangster Books I love that stuff.

I just got an e-reader today, so ask me in a month how many I'm getting through now I can carry my books to and from uni/placement more easily.

Though I start back at uni on Thursday and I might have to work this term. :/

1 book every couple of months. More in the holydays / summer.

Something like 6-8 books a year.

i know i will have to change eventually, wave of the future and all that but... i like the old, smelly, coffee stained, taped together look of old books :p

I've spent too long travelling to uni and work with books in my bag. The weight-saving was the big plus for me. And the huge library of out of copyright books available online helped a lot too.

The lack of storage in my flat is also an issue. ;)

Well, I'm about to start the thousand page plus twelfth book of the Wheel of Time series, which was one of the things that persuaded me to buy a Kindle.

The Kindle is definitely more portable. :p

I probably go through a book every fortnight, read even more when I'm off work, especially in the summer when I can park my arse on a beach and cook slowly.
