continual SI woe... help meeee

SI client keeps booting me to desktop after a random period of time (always less than 5 minutes). This has gone on with a Creative GF3 and my current leadtek gf4 (both Ti models with 64mb).

PC:
1ghz tbird athlon
512 mb pc133 (no problem there- i checked)
epox 8kta3 mobo

drivers:
Latest VIA hyperion
Latest drivers from leadtek website
tried with dx8.1, and dx9
tried with fresh install of win2000, and with SP3 installed.


i've reformatted twice. out of ideas now can only think of maybe switching back to win98se, or buying a new PC

Your problem might be a VIA chipset - I had the exact same problem.

Try checking your BIOS version and make sure its up to date - I know it might sound bizarre but this is what finally fixed mine after days of installing drivers/patching.

95% of problems are drivers.
95% of driver problems are video card drivers.

ledtech drivers. hmmm

and steer clear of DX9, wait for DX9.1
