Constant LD's soon after connecting

Hi there.

I'm not the best with computers, and was wondering if anyone could help me out.

When connecting to Prydwen server today, I've gone linkdead between zero seconds, and about 15 minutes of logging on.

This has happened about 15 times today.

I've tried closing all other programmes that could interfere. I have a NTL cable modem, which apears to be working fine.

Anyone got any ideas as to what is wrong?

Should i try a reinstall??

try running a trace (www.pingplotter.com has a good program) to prydwen, and see if any of the hops give a lot of packetloss or slow response. (for the IP of prydwen, check the login screen. I forgot )

Is it with classic clent, SI client or SI client in new zones (btw I play Excalibur mainly)?

My problem is the latter. Played classic on Saturday night (and I am on a modem connection) and no problems. Since registering SI on Thursday, the new zone in Hib, HyBrasil, is fairly unplayable at times unless I stand still (and as I am skilling up in crafting atm standing in Aalid Feie a long while is not too bad). Otherwise. trying to play my new Valewalker there especailly running about in the new towns (Grove of Domnann in particular) or having a scrap withthe mobs outside Aalid Feie and I can LD quite a lot.

However, last night used SI client in RvR at Bledmeer with a lot of mids about (gits) plus a run in DF up to the mid side and back and no problems there.

So it would appear my LDs are in the new SI zone not the old zones running SI.

Im having those very same probs elric...

Bang on with my probs....anywhere in hybrasil is a ld for me within minutes, SI in old areas are as stable as they have always been for me

Did a Rightnow and they told me to upgrade my graphics card drivers after they asked for a copy of my DXdiag.txt file (a Direct X diagnostic program START>RUN>DXdiag).

Have done that and tried earlier seemed ok but a few LDs now in Aalid Feie (that is why I am typing here LOL) but my modem connection is dodgy at this time of night (another problem LOL).
