So, we start to play the game, we begin fighting in small scale skirmishes that grow in scale and significance as we gain level.
A question of mine is; how long does it take for one side to conquer the enemies capital, occupy it, exploit it (yay) and then finally for the 'mechanism' to reset?
What im looking for, is to find out if this is something we are going to be redoing every 2 weeks, and that sacking your enemies capital becomes a mundane affiar.....or if it is an epic event which can take many months (ie- something that MEANS something when its acheived).
Im hoping some PR guy dosnt appear telling me whats fun and he starts spouting about 'we dont want peopel to have to wait too long to sack a city, thats not fun, we want peopel to be able to crush their enemies capital again and again'.
Im personally hoping that capturing your enemies capital is something that really inspires people. If its too easy or too often, it wont inspire anybody apart from an over eager PR representative.
If its an epic event, people will have an adrenaline rush as they break through the gates.....they will have a beating heart as they try stave off the enemy from a wall after a long campaign of slow retreat.
Its all a question of the WOWesque mentality again. 'I want everything and I want it now!'.
If that creeps into the situation, I fear it will detract from any meaning and buzz players will get. If they do it RIGHT, it could be a huge buzz and lure to keep people playing.
but then again what do I know. I find fun what a PR guy tells me is fun eh? :england:
