I have bought the retail pack of half-life generation but i have a problem on the barrysworld servers.

when the game loads up the server is building but comes up an error and can't find my maps .

I have down loaded every map pack around but still get the error message

couldn't find map will download the map

can't find your .dll[cl_dlls\client.dll] differs from servers

host disconnects

any ideas

I have cs 1.0.0.3 the retail version of version 1.3 and the serria downloader says i have all the updates.

Counter strike does work on other servers

what maps is it which it doesnt work on?

It sounds like Survivor or Storm your havin trouble on

Have a look for a Barrysworld Server with somethin like Militia or Assault, see if it works, if it dont.. come back lol

all the maps on barrysworld don't work but after it starts to build it says joystick found

i use to get a similar error message, thats why im wonderin...

ok.. press *print screen* when the error occurs, go to Paint, paste it in, save it as a .jpg and send it here.. then i should know

The back ground is grey with half-life symbol not the bloke with the gun

you dont have Oilrig installed...

And if you do its an older version that the one thats on the server

But, it should come Pre Installed with CS 1.3.....?

I think you better re-install CounterStrike meh lad

I can play oil rig , italy etc on other servers through the quick

start option but not on the barrysworld servers and i can also

play on some of the gamesspy servers

Do you have any scripts or modifications installed? Is your halflife directory and cs directory the standard c:\sierra\half-life\cstrike?

Your maps should be in the cstrike directory, in a maps folder.

When that error message appears, try typing retry in the console.

Also, how much RAM do you have installed? And are you starting the game through gamespy, or the halflife browser?

i had the same prop when i was using cs retail. It turned out to be the download to update it so try re_installing the whole thing again or try to get the mod version loads better and not as many fuck ups

Cheers for all the help and i have found the soultion

When installing gamespy you let it browse for games and it finds half-life and counter strike.

Only let gamespy look for counterstrike games
