Connection Problem

Hi All

I havent played BF for a while as I have been rather busy. I am free now of poo and can play it, to my hearts content. Anyway I have updated it with the new patches etc and great stuff.

I have a problem tho. When I am trying to conect to a server through ASE the ASE screen minimises as if Im going to be launched and then bang, Nothing, notin, zip, jack shit. No BF! It just goes to my desktop and stops as if I hadnt done anything. It doenst freeze or anything just dont load BF.

Its nothing to do with my ZA as it works sometimes and my ZA is set to allow it, so what is it?

I had this problem - when my CD Drive was dying. It'd go to launch BF, but when it came to the CD checking stage of the launch, it wouldnt work.

You could be having this problem.

It also could be you're trying to connect to Xpack1 or Xpack2 servers - in which case the same would happen

try the Game.net ones;

If you run a non standard (ie not 60hz) refresh rate, BF1942 wont run I find. You have to put renderer.allowallrefreshrates 1 in it.
