Connecting to a server

Every time time I try to connect to a server through the game or through gamespy it will load up VC and then crashes and goes to desktop.

I was wondering if any one could help me on this please.

As I haven't tried to connect yet I'm clutching at straws but...

Have you got the 1.1 patch?
Have you tried connecting through the Barrybar/web browser, to be honest I don't know if this has been updated yet?
I take it that it works perfectly well in single player?

I know that a few people have had success connecting so some more help may well be on the way......

Yeah the single player works fine its just the multiplayer aspect that i'm having problems with.

I'll try to find the 1.1 patch as I didn't know this existed.

The patch came out sneakily before the game arrived in the UK and is available on BW/Game FTP.

After downloading the patch I still have no joy. Any more suggestions will be most welcome as I only have 7 days left until I can return it.
