It went like this.

We got engaged. Decided not to actually have the wedding for at least a year but in order for me to be able to stay in America we decided that it made sense to go to the courthouse and tie the knot so I could get a visa much easier. Now it means fuck all to me but as with most women the wedding is a big deal for her so I've agreed to keep shutum about this so it doesnt take away from the "main event" so to speak.
