has anybody got an idea what the config would be to suffer no gaming problems at all??

because, i'm running this game (windowed/normal) on a
2.4xp processor
hercules 9800 pro
one gig ram ddr333.
i have adsl connection

still i find it unplayable when 30 ppl are hopping around. As in triangle in Framerate

Os: wind 2k , dx 9.0b, fully updates?

i would love to know what config is needed to have NO triangle.

Well I run it on an athlon 750 with 256mb ram and a g-force 4800 128 mb card poking out the back and the only time I get major problems is during intense rvr or when I try to walk through aegirham (or however it's spelt...) after dying....

First of all the most lagissues depends on the connection to the server, if your ISP are buying crappy cable then it most certainly depends on that. France is one of the worst countries when it comes to routers and cables. I get very high packetloss due to my ISP buying crappy cable outside of sweden. 10mbit/s should mean no lagg or very little lag, in huge epic battles i can't do much at all. So thats the main reason (i belive)

It's important to make a distinction between two very different kinds of "lag" when discussing these things.

A): Client-side graphics lag, which occurs when your machine can't cope with the heavy load of graphic calculations, resulting in low fps (frames-per-second) count

and

B): Internet lagging (i.e. latency), which is caused by poor server performance and/or a poor internet connection.

Some comments:

* At relic raids and such, both these type of lag may occur since both client and server are put under a lot of stress.

* Internet lag never causes framerate drops in DAOC. Instead, it typically manifests itself in slow reactions when administrating your inventory, interacting with NPCs and some "jerky" movement by mobs and other players.

You don't seem to know what you are talking about at all.

I have lag all the time with my computer amd xp 2400+, 512mb ram, geforce 4 ti 4200 128mb ram on a asus a7n8x deluxe. Operating system is Windows XP. People with slower computers seems to lag alot less than me. I blame that im just unlucky.

Make sure your gfx card isn't sharing IRQ with any other hardware.

I have an Athlon 1800+, 256MB ram, Geforce2 Ultra 64MB DDR and my PC runs SI smoothly unless I'm in a RR with hundreds of poeple...

Its all about updating drivers and finding the right ones(not always the menufactures official drivers), updating things like directx, not running loads of background apps like MSN, Windows update etc, and then fine tuning your PC which is the hard part if u dont know what u r doing

So u poeple with Athlon 2000+ or higher, loads of memory and nice graphics cards should run SI very very smoothly... if not then sort ya PC out!

Athlon XP 2400, 1 GB memory, A7N8X nForce 2 mobo, GeForce 4 128mb vid card, running XP and DX9.

run in 1024x768 mode full screen, and have yet to encounter lag, even in the RR attempts - runs sweet

Also run 2 SI's in windowed 800x600 mode and thats cool as well...
