Thanks for letting me conduct this little experiment.
Is it really this easy? And why even bother replying? And why with words like "fuck off and die"?
A flamer want flames and you give him what he wants? Why?
If you'd ignore the post it would die out quickly, but you replied and the flames spread like mad and remained a the top.

I disagree with this line of thinking, if I was out to cause the maximum amount of disruption and flame then I would simply create 100s of new topics until someone replied.

It's probally best to contain it all in one topic than to have many posts. I guess you could say it's like team killers in games, they wont stop killing you just because you dont shoot them back, sometimes you have to fight fire with fire and beat them at their own game, then they get bored and leave :).

Why is it necessary to conduct such an idiotic experiment?

Do you go up to people in the street and insult them to see what happens?

You will find you get a similar response...perhaps a bit more violent...

If you started that thread for the reasons that you state, then you're an idiot. If you started it because you were bored, then you're an idiot. If you started it for any other reason, then you're an idiot. If you sta... you get the drift.

To contain it within one thread is the best way of dealing with it, people cross-referencing from other threads just spreads the disease and makes it a lot harder to contain.

And stop taking the moral high ground, claiming that you started it for "experimentation" purposes, that is a crock of shit and you know it. You started it to childishly provoke.

That is the last I'll say on the matter, seeing as I'm going out and to type on a keyboard that isn't in front of me would be a tad more than slightly impressive.
