Conclusion to the Cameran plot

Tonight we slew Cameran. First we destroyed the root in Camelot under the church, which turned out to be a "Root of Betrayal". As soon as the root was destroyed, people could pass the soul wards at the bridge and we were able to free Graham and Myste from Camerans grip. Cameran had a woman by his side, Lady Ayelna. He called upon the dark gods and changed into a very evil form (I have a screenshot if anyone can host that somewhere, PM me). He killed our first wave of people, but then Albion rallied in force and killed him quite fast. He dropped a lot of Dartmoor loot and from his dead body erupted a little worm. We killed the worm as well. Then we escorted the Lady Ayelna to safety.

This is what Lady Ayelna said after we slayed Cameran and escorted her to safety. This sorceress was apparently in love with Cameran, and is also connected to Vismak, who is her master. (I scrapped most comments)

To add a few things:
The avenger was obviously Graham, who was angry since I married Myste.
The price was Myste, to fit the motive of the avenger.
The third, strong blood line... well, apparently there was no third.

And Vismak? He remains a mystery.

quick thanks to everyone with /as read on unity, cause i really spammed it like mad trying to keep everyone uptodate with stuff, as i know some of you hated just being told kill x, save y etc... and wanted you all to get involved.

what of vismak? well he seems harmless to me, he left the abbey a few days ago Lady aylena said, he is a wandering traveller

Wow what a great story!

I was unfortuanately detained with prior comittments, but I came to the plains to help slay Cameran.

Feel free to call upon me and my guildmates if ever this evil resurfaces.

Glad to see that Lady Myste is again safe.

The Bridge

For those who have not heard what happened, tis as follows.

Graham and I had both raced to Camelot to gaze upon the root that had grown, after which we each spent time in prayer before the altar of the Light, deeming ourselves safe from harm in such a place. We were surrounded by Templar brethren and others - such as Ken and Dialarez. What harm could have come?

Moments later, when the root was destroyed and an eerie shriek rang through the cathedral, something cold gripped my heart and everything went black...even as I was telling worried companions that I was alright. When I woke, both I and Graham were standing on the broken bridge, next to the sacrificial veinwoods. In front of us stood two people - Cameran and Lady Ayelna.

By her words and actions, Ayelna was clearly in love with Cameran and begged us to understand that he was not himself. Apparently Vismak might have been able to help us return his sanity, but that scholar was not interested. Cameran was clearly mad with power and the thought of destruction. He raged against someone unseen and claimed that he would have his access to power, true blood or no true blood.

We tried to argue with him, tried to bring him back to some realisation of who Ayelna was..at the very least. It was however already far too late for such intervention as that. Cameran imprisoned me within one of the veinwoods and it was clear, oh so clear, that as part of the ritual that he would now begin, my blood would feed the roots of those trees. He attempted once more to force Graham to his bidding, but Graham found the strength from somewhere to resist....and hence was trapped by Cameran within another veinwood. Helplessly we watched as he rushed into the ritual, despite our shouts and the soultorn cries of his onetime beloved lady, Ayelna.

At that point a great cry went up as the soul ward fell and the armies of Albion began to pour on to the bridge. I could hear the shouts of friends and kin....though strangely not a word could be understood - it was as if all those I knew and loved had become as Midgardian to me. Suddenly then that "spell" passed and all became clear, the veinwoods vanished from around us. I still could not move, so stood helplessly as friends ran up to me, still frozen solid.

Lady Ayelna yells, "Please, Cameran!!! Master Vismak will help you regain your senses!"
You say, "Vismak? He can help?"
<Lady Ayelna sobs >
Cameran the third yells, "Master Vismak is nothing but a foolish meddler!"
Graham says, "WHAT?!"
You say, "Cameran, admit it....you are beaten.....but this lady loves you. Remember that?"
Lady Ayelna says, "He could, if he was interested......"
Cameran the third yells, "His way is one of words!"
<Myste comforts Ayelna>

Hendrick says, "So Cameran, is that all?"
Cameran the third yells, "I shall make Vismak regret he ever helped you all!"
Lady Ayelna says, "Please.......Cameran..... it is not yet too late....."
You say, "Cameran...listen to her."
Cameran the third yells, "GODS OF THE UNDERWORLD - HEAR MY CALL!"
Lady Ayelna says, "I love you, Cameran.... please, come to me"
Hendrick says, "Listen to the only person on this world that loves you"
You say, "Cameran, don't do this.....listen to your heart."

Elsyth says, "the link is not complete .."
Cameran the third yells, "TAKE MY SOUL FOR A TRUE TASTE OF YOUR POWERS"
You say, "You know more than hatred...."
Lady Ayelna says, "Oh no!!!! I fear he has gone beyond our help!"
Lady Ayelna backs away>

<Karimkazi shudders >
Cameran the third yells, "Fools!"
Graham says, "What is... happening..."
Lady Ayelna says, "He spoke the incantation....."
<Myste blinks >
<Jerreck looks on, amazed and quite unable to move>
<Myste realises she can finally move and backs up sharply>

Cameran becomes demonic in appearance and marches up aggressively to Ayelna.

Cameran the third says, "see me now Ayelna?"
You say, "Ayelna....back away..."
Cameran the third says, "see me???"
You say, "Do not harm her"
Graham says, "Leave her be!"
Cameran the third yells, "THIS IS THE TRUE POWER OF GODS AT WORK!"
<Hendrick steps between Ayelna and Cameran>
Lady Ayelna says, "I see you, Cameran..... I see what you have become"
Lady Ayelna says, "I loved what you were and what you could be...."
<Jerreck steps in between as well>
Cameran the third yells, "AND YOU MORTAL FOOLS WHO WOULD TRY TO STOP ME?"
Cameran the third says, "THE POWER WILL BE MINE!"
Lady Ayelna says, "I can love you still.........."
<Cameran the third laughs wildly>
You say, "We would not try, we would SUCCEED!"
Jerreck says, "At least we would do the right thing, unlike you, Cameran!"
You say, "The LIGHT will prevail!"
Mathal steps back and prepares an arrow... just in case.>
Hendrick beckons Cameran the third.
Lady Ayelna says, "Cameran, don't. Ther will be no return for you"
Cameran the third yells, "COME GODS! TAKE ME AND MAKE ME COMPLETE!!!"

Cameran grows in size and strength and begins to cut down the army of Albion like a wind running through a field of wheat.

Lady Ayelna yells, "CAMERAN!!!!!! NOOOOO!!!!!"
<Myste screams >
Graham yells, "ATTACK!"
A powerful energy enlights the sky of the plains for a second. Suddenly, a dark storm quickly forms, thunder claps and a powerful scream can be heard: 'Yessss! You will now understand the meaning of fear!'
Shaeffer says, "Myste, run"
You say, "I do not run"
Lady Ayelna says, "Lost...... he is lost"
Shaeffer says, "then walk quickly lady!"
Karimkazi says, "Lady Ayelna we must get you out of here"
Karimkazi says, "the warriors of albion cannot fight forever"
<Myste comforts Ayelna>
Lady Ayelna says, "Oh, what have I done??? What have I done?"
You say, "Ayelna, come with me...we should leave...run..."
Karimkazi yells, "if you dare attack Lady Ayelna i will kill you!!!"
Jerreck says, "Lady, we can't hold him much longer!"
<Lady Ayelna turns to Myste>
Karimkazi says, "please let us escort you out of here"
You say, "We must leave, lady....I beg you....for your safety"
Lady Ayelna says, "Lady, please.. take me away from here"

A mighty battle followed, as all in Albion rallied to the call. So many gave their lives in our realm's defense, the death screams were continuous...yet finally the evil demonic form that was Cameran was brought down, rotting upon the ground before it had lain there more than a minute. From the putrifaction of his corpse crawled a worm, glowing with evil...that too was struck down by the assembled forces. Finally, Cameran was put to rest.

A grief-stricked, traumatised Lady Ayelna resolved to travel to the Abbey, where she would talk to Vismak and tell us all of the ritual and what had happened. (I still cannot believe that someone dared call her a lazy wench for taking a rest at Prydwen Bridge - the woman had just had her life all but destroyed).

As for what happened at the Abbey, I direct you all to the eloquent words of others, written above.

And...I give my thanks to all that came, that sacrificed their lives and bled upon the plains in the name of Albion. You did not only save my life and that of Graham, but you prevented a great evil that would have destroyed all in the realm. I salute and honour every one of you.

Sergeant Byron, in the small tower at the edge of Salisbury and Campocorentin, has a short speech about the defeat of Cameran - and also a warning that now the 'strangers' need to be investigated more thoroughly.....

Alright, so I might be considered to be biased (!), but I think the Events team deserve a thank you for their efforts with the Cameran plot. Good stuff...and lots of people are now looking forward to seeing how the future develops.

Hm. Time to pay those strangers back for piling on me when I called their leader a spy, I think...
