I have a huge great big piece of coursework for my Architecture module. However, I'm stuck on a question about hard disks.

I need to calculate firstly the burst rate, and then the sustained rate.

I've been given the RPM, Seek time (in Milliseconds) the average read time for the data of a sector (in microseconds).

I'm not asking you to do my coursework for me (this post would be shorter if I were) but can you point me in the direction of some concise but useful sites that would tell me forumlas for how it works and why.

Or, if you do have enough time an explaination from your good selves would be appreciated.
