Well, was my 18th yesterday (wooooo!) and I got a nice shiny digital camera from my parents. Pictures are cool, but I'm after a larger memory card for it. It's a CompactFlash card and having looked on Dabs I see I can get em reasonably cheap, even 128 meg ones.

These ones are the "DabsValue" brand though, has anyone bought one? are they OK? etc?

It must be natural for people to querie products from something called DabsValue surely :p

fantastic, I shall probably invest in one then :)

8 Meg seems to hold quite a lot, but on holiday with no computer, there could be problems - and the cool mini video recording thing (15 seconds ffs) would be nice to fit more than one on the card!!

first effort? if you insist. Sadly the battery didnt chage up in time to take photos of the amazing Sumo Suits I had at the party (w00t!) but this is the first:

Quality is down a bit cause fresh from the cam it was 125 K, I still have a modem so I felt sorry for myself :p:clap:

What model's the Digicam?

Was thinking of buying myself a Canon Powershot S40 or a Pentax Optio 430 at the end of next month along with a 512Mb card to go with it...

I was in Florida back in Xmas 2000 and I bought a CompactFlash 64MB card for my camera, its a dream when you can hold even 150 pictures of the no-loss highest quality at 1280x960, if I scale down to 640x480 size I can get over 450 !

It's a Nikon Coolpix 775.
The images are JPG, but the quality is impressive, even on the middle quality setting.

I have to say I'm very impressed with it. Can do live video out too, what the use of this is whe you have a 3 foot cable is I admit debatable :p

Also good is the fact that there is no webcam rubbish. I originally wanted a combo camera, but when you consider the damage to lenses etc. it's probably best to get seperate. The benefit from this is that XP will pick it up as an external disk drive by default so you can stick anything on the Flash Card.

I is chuffed, could you tell?

I bought my compactflash memory from scan. 256mb card for about £80
Yes, the unbranded stuff should be ok. I've got 4 cards here, of which 2 are unbranded and no problems.
