Hey

As title says, my comp exploded.

I was walking home from work and when i got close to my appartment i saw a harddrive in a cars door on the street, thought nothing of it.
Then i got home and found the motherboard in the hallway door and the speakers in the sealing. Even had to take the cat to the hospital to remove my nostro. Even now, 2 weeks later "Twinkies" just aint the same. Overall it kinda looked like WW2 in my appartment.

Already mailed RN about it.
But i just wonder if anyone had something similar happen to them and if this is normal behavior for a computer?

30 odd years with computers and ive never seen one explode, so pretty damn rare. I know faulty monitors can explode, but I wouldnt have thought a PC could! I wonder how... did the power supply do something nasty?

this is clearly a joke, unless you installed your hardware in a old warhead, box of explosives etc :D

Its as true as it gets.

Here's one on whats left of the comp:

After some reaserch i think i've been a victim to these guys:
computer_bomb.jpg

Dont get it, how can someone do something as horrible as that.
Not only did they blow up my comp but they also hurt my sweet innocent cat "Twinkies" . But he's doing better now that he's off the painkillers.

Here you can see a pic of him in recovery:
Poor Twinkie.jpg

How someone could do this is out of my imagination.

I'm so scared of comps nowaydays so atm im using two 3 meter long sticks to type with, and this is realy effecting my gameplay. Been trying to get a hold of a GM but no luck. And they dont seem to answer my RN mails either.

So if any GM reads this, solve it...

Sorry this imho opinion is bollox there is nothing in a PC that can explode unless you count the HUGE Caps in the PSU but if you have ever seen cap explode it would do any dmg just a lot of mess.

In 14 years I have never heard of this happening once, I have seen a the after effects of a Processor getting too hot and setting fire to the PC tho good old Althon K6 and K7's xD,

les look in side a PC

  • PSU - There is a small posability that the caps would explode but that is it, but that would cuase the kind of explosing you are tlaking about
  • CPU - Enough to Start a Fire within the PC but thats it.
  • GFX - Same as the PSU in theory it would start a fire with the heat if u where over clocking it.
  • HDD - NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN
  • CD-ROM - I have seen CD-roms with Metal pennies all sorts of crap stuck in them in my time but again they never explode

Too be totaly blunt there is nothing in a PC that could explode and give off enough kenetic energy to explain the bollox you are talkin.

If this was true I would speak to the people that built your PC and call teh police cause it would have to be a small explosive device imho.

If you can prove me wrong fine but I dont bleave this bollox.

if you would know alittle physics also you would understand why ANY PC component cannot explode :p google about explosions :england:

hmm, you shouldn't give up that easily... Perhaps try a bit of thermite. Perhaps that'll supply the necessary incentive to the components to explode :)

Not quite so, as UndyingAngel stated; capasitors are known to explode, if you put too much stress on'em. And in a PSU there're some huge ones, but of course they don't explode that violently, but rather with a small pop. I had a PSU that exploded a while back, and it fried my MB and CPU in the process. Just comes to show, never use a 350W PSU to run a 450 W system :D

You went shopping and bought yourself some new wireing for the photo take ? Everything is fried, but the wires looks brand new :D

Thermite would just eat clean through the whole PC in seconds with no explosion...

Nothing in a home PC that can go bang except possibly the PSU which would only mess up your case - to have an explosion of that scale it would have to be some kind of IED in the pc...

And yes i know what im talking about two of my RL mates work for the RN as bomb disposal divers so we've had ALL the explosives conversations you can shake a stick at...
