Brite did you see juggernaut lv3 RA on a bonedancer?(pet did 780 damage a hit on lv50 savage lol)

It makes you think is frontiers the time when daoc goes from a sensible fun game to an all out world war 3 fragfest where players kill each other in 1s :p but then again frontiers being tested by many players at the moment so let's hope they sort some RA's out.

It only works for summonable pets.

And in the case of Necros, they ARE the pet. It'd be like giving a class an RA that gives them +30 levels for 1 minute which wouldn't be very prudent now would it.

Yep ;but no doubt these RA's gonna change anyhow since its a no brainer its kinda unbalancing a BD pet does approx 1400 dmg every swing

It's just BDs that would get huge hits really, commanders style once in a while, and I wouldn't be surprised they hit harder than other summonable pets in the first place, or at least certain incarnations of the commander.

Still sounds pretty overpowered anyway.

They get rid of quite a lot of useful and needed RA's in frontiers(like me i lose dualist reflexes ;/ which i got at lv4 now=12% more dw rate) then they boost other RA's and make some too strong from reading about them.I think mastery of pain 5 and mastery of magery 5 will be too strong aswell as the aug lv5 RA's(48str=160ws or so which means a rr7+ zerk/bm/merc would cap with it on most targets+ToA overcaps so i imagine mastery of magery 5+aug acuity 5 would be the same for casters)

Though avoidance of magic 4=19% resists(?) then you got empty the mind which stacks onto it(about 40-50% i think), can make casters useless in some situations, to me it seems frontiers is going to make the game as not balanced as much as it was in 1.65, but early stages yet only we can see from the people testing the beta version point of view.Of course the lv5 RA's do take a lot of points but having one of them can make a big difference Oo

They got rid of the 'diminishing' returns on RAs, which is going to acomplish nothing but widen the gap between the haves and have nots (low and high RR here). This is especially true of casters. High end casters are going to enjoy nuking your average no-resist-buff-RR2-player for completely insane damage (read 700+ and high crit rate on top of that), thanks to Mastery of Magery and Wild Power, and at the same time, your average RR2 caster on wrong damage type is going to face insane resists vs high RR players due to the new Avoidance of Magic and resist buffs (Hello sub 200 dmg / nuke).

If it goes live, casters will eat a nerf eventually, AoM will stay no doubt, and all that will have achieved in the end is to make the have nots even more useless. MoC being completely nerfed is not going to help either.

On the other side of the fence, there's SoS and Charge. Along with the MoC nerf, I don't see how a caster is going to achieve anything open field without a bodyguard. Unstoppable light tanks at mach3/4 ... :m00:

If the goal was to make even more abilities mandatory to even think of competing in group based RvR, as well as forcing even more specific group setups, I'm sure New Frontiers is going to achieve that alright. Too bad that's what I dislike most about DAoC already. Instead of having Speed5, AE CC, spread healing, buffbots, and det4+/ end regen (for tank groups) win the fights, it's going to be speed5, AE CC, spread healing, buffbots, end regen, bodyguard, SoS, Charge, AoM, resist buffs ... Or more like, lack of mentionned abilities losing fights ... As I see it, New Frontiers is a gift to optimized groups with high enough RR to afford the new stuff, and the MLs to go along. Was bad already, it's getting worse, imo.

I don't mind people taking advantage of poor game design, I suppose it's only human (And I suppose I'd be trying to do the same if I could be arsed), but I mind the way the game design makes it completely irrelevant how well or badly you play if you don't have such or such group setup and such and such ability and buffbots etc etc.

Probably a moot point if it ends up being stand offs and keep sieges all over the place though.
