Thanks for the link, pretty much covers a lot of the problem points and it's clear they are working hard on fixing some issues which is a positive thing. Unfortunately, to be perfectly honest, this should have all been done long before release.

Overhauling dungeons, beefing up xp areas, adding content all only a few weeks after release must be embarassing for FC. Hope those responsible for rushing the game out or failing to run a comprehensive beta test get lashed for it.

Still, a lot of positives. Many games which came out in a similar state remained so for a long time (hello SWG!!), the next few weeks could be crucial for FC. Get it right and they could be seen as one of the few mmorpg companies who actually fix problems and to be honest, to a lot of players, that can be much more significant than the problems being there in the first place. Get it wrong or fail to get things done quickly however and it could cause them more problems.

it does sound promising indeed, the game is buggy in so many ways (but for some reason still loveable :) ) and i hope they can get most of it sorted.

Id imagine this will be done within the first half of june, due to 30day free play people have finishing a week after?

I don't think that AoC is buggy in so many ways, I played way more broken MMOG launches (EVE Online, Tabula Rasa) and they were enjoyable too.

The letter from the Game Director is good. They decided to invest in quality first after the product got launches, this will enable them to do functional changes easier later on.

Clever timing will mean they will announce it is due for few days AFTER ppls 30days ends imo:)

What about the useless feats? sounds to me like they put them in a month before release and said we will let the buyers test them.

What about the annoying debuffs that stay on you FOREVER until you log out?

What about the bugged roots that leave you rooted until you log out/die

I could go on the game is a buggy mess in it's current state and to say it is a pvp game? there is no balance what so ever to any of the classes they are either terribly Overpowered like the PoM or unpowered like the necro/demo.

I won't be resubbing after my free trial is up which is a shame because i really wanted to like this game unfortunatly the shiney graphics are not enough to keep me here ;/

I am sure if we give funcom 5-6 months the game will start to look and feel like a polished product in its current state i refuse to pay them money.

It is sure going to be interesting to see what the server populations are like after the 30 day free time is up.

would be a smart move. if they had added it all already then the people that rushed to 80 would of done that as well and have no reason to subscribe. the majority is casual camers and the release of updates at a steady pace to keep up with them is the best way for the company to work. bugs though should be sorted priority.

I enjoy the game but don`t be silly saying it`s not buggy as hell, I will be resubbing despite all the problems as generally it`s very good.

There are major issues that must be fixed though and tbh I have no idea how they could possibly have missed them in the course of the 2 year beta. Stupid little things like a group quest where you have to pick up an item however there`s only 3 items and a group is 6 people then the stuff doesn`t respawn so you have to reset and do the whole thing again, the auction, mail system, half the item bonuses having no effect whatsoever.

Anyway won`t go on it`s a good game overall :)

What about "read the dev ntoes" that state "we're working on the bugs you reported and fix them asap"?

You evidently don't like the game, why the f*ck are you here?

I can somehow understand complaining, but complaining about devs saying "we're fixing stuff" is jsut over the line by a longshot.

Its very interesting to see people crying about the status of a game during the launchphase. Every time. It never gets old.

Since this is a DAoC community, do you guys remember the DAoC start? Do you remember classes having only one skillline and even that line wasnt fully fleshed out. Even icons missing for the few things you had. Terrain bugs. Pathing. Game stability. Latency.

Everyone calm down a bit and be happy that they acknowledge the problems and state that they work on them, especially since they gave a rather accurate timeframe. This is something I havent seen developers do during a launchtime.

Call me fanboi if you like, I dont care. I like the game as is, even tho I know its far from finished. If the state of the game hasnt changed when my first 3month sub has run out, then I start considering to quit. Not now.

I got you, you think that the feat system is useless.

I suggest to try to do some PvP or step up to harder tasks in PvE, I think some stuff is not managable without proper use of feats.

I doubt though that you played all classes to 80 to make such a blanket statement about the feat system being useless. When something is useless then it is most of the skills you can spec into :p. I can't speak about all classes though, so maybe the class you play indeed has useleless feat trees that make little difference.

For me stuns, roots and knockbacks need an immunity timer and the bugs need to be fixed. Doesn't sound like not managable to me.

As for the subscribtion base being higher or lower after 30 days, I don't don't care. People who don't like the game or who didn't had their expectations met will leave the ones who like it or expect fixes in their favour will stay.

It's not the Armegeddon that is coming upon us when some stop to play. I bought 2 WoW copies once, left between level 14-25 and I dind't feel the need to go to random forums and to cry about how the game didn't convince me, I think it's pointless.

It's not like Funcom said that they made an all-purpose-device that will suit everybody and lied to you. And in case you believed some marketing bullshit then I am sorry for you, I get what I see and what I see is good enough for me.

The root bug you mentioned is pretty annoying, I had it last gaming session two or three times with the last patch and I think that new patches shouldn't introduce new bugs, if it happens a couple of times people will indeed fuck off for good.

Been perma stunned yet? that's also funny once the guy who stunned you figures out you can't move and just waits there sending you dumb /tells and if he thinks your logging out he will hit you just so the log out stops and you actually have to exit the game ;/

Its nice they are working on fixing this, but I'd have wanted to see something like 'we know we should have delayed the game'

If this was how WAR would have turned out, then I am glad that was delayed as well. No one likes paying for Beta and that essentially is what people are doing right now. I'm lucky in that I got to play the game for work, but I won't be continueing with the subscription.

I'm going to give it a few months (3-4 maybe), either re-sub or if part of the guild I'm in are still playing, then I will pick up a 14 day trial or something similar. Hopefully all these bugs and problems will have been resolved.

So, what Aada said in parts... but I see old.Tohtori's point. Its not easy for Funcom to make the post they did and kudos to the Director for doing it, you don't often see them sorts posting... but it's good they know whats going on and are trying to fix it.

I like the way it's "normal" for mmo's to be released in a pretty shocking state. If this was a console game they'd get laughed at by the TRC department.

Despite all of that I'm mostly enjoying AoC so far. I have reservations about it being a good group PvP game at 80, but that's another matter entirely.

I guess that happens like all the time, does it? At least like 3 times a day, since you took the time to vent...

If it really bothers you that much, take the time to FRAPS/ingame vid the incident and /petition the guy. Its not unlikely that he is exploiting and we all know the stance FC took against sploiters.
