Picked it up today, bloomin marvellous.

So damned confusing what you have to do sometimes and ive had to resort to a guide for 2 of them so far but picking it up as I go. Reminds me of Freakout structurally but looks much much MUCH pretty. In fact, nicest looking PS2 game I have ever played.

I get the feeling I may get a little annoyed with the start to each new hunt (all feels very similar each time you set off but I've just mashed the 5th Colossi and know im going to finish this one.

Love it love it love it. Looks amazing and feels so right. The only problem I have had so far is the suspect camera. Even then it isn't really a problem.

The first time you climb your first colossi feels tremendous.

With this, ICO, Katamari and that new C&C bundle pack (okay, it's for the PC, but still - it's all coming out of the same pocket), I have too many games to spend money on and can't afford them all. :(
I've bought ICO, but won't be able to play it until the exam revision break. Out of Colossus or Katamari, which should I buy next?

This was my dilemma. I went for Colossus first and haven't looked back.

I could have got this on the weekend, but GAME were offering Soul Calibur 3 for £20. I couldn't justify another £30 on the bog-standard SotC. :(

So you can justify spending £20 on a fighting game that will last you like a couple of days max before you get bored..

But you can't justify spending £30 on a unique game like this?

Have you played SC3? The depth is unlike anything seen in any other fighter, ever. SC2 kept me busy for 60+ hours alone. :)

As for Wanda, it was the bog standard edition. And as Yaka said, I'd rather keep an eye out for the nice spangly cardboard/art card edition. Yum yum tbh. It's not as though I have no interest in it, quite the contrary. It looks like love juice. But not yet.

I'm on the 6th Colossus now (I know it's not that exciting really) but I can't believe how much I am enjoying a game that is essentially 12 boss fights, considering that boss fights are the bit I hate most about games. Not because I can't do them but because I usually scare my neighbours away and end up buying a few new controllers.

It's really good to see innovation and creativity like this in new games even if the execution is far from perfect. It's too easy to accept crap like need for speed most wanted underground 8 and fifa 06 (aka fifa mk 405) at the moment.

It's already worth quite a bit. Got rid of mine about 6 months ago for around £50. Kinda wish I'd kept it, but had bills to pay.

Saw one in Gamestation the other day. They wanted £30 for it but they'd stuck a fucking Gamestation sticker on the front of the cardboard. Which would take some care to remove that I don't possess.

The boxed ones don't seem to be in short supply, we've had about ten in since release last friday.

it's freaking awesome :) just a shame it laggs a little, and it takes some time to get used to the camera. But besides that, it's a great game

Up to, erm I think the 11th one. I'm on the one where the colossus looks like gorilla crawling around in the water. I'm enjoying it so far but it seems really easy. It's only taken me a few hours to reach this colossus so I'm wondering about the repeatability factor. Does completing it unlock a wealth of new stuff or is that it?

Once you complete it you get the time attack modes.

BTW - I've had the US NTSC version since end of October last year and have only had time to get up to the 3rd level. Tis a brilliant game though and one I definitely think should be remade for a more powerful machine (PS3 perhaps?).

mabe the ps3 will smooth out ps2 titles like the ps2 did for ps1 games.

ive pld it thru a few times since usaver got released. but not as much as some peeps from the htsc uk forums. think some of em spent days looking at ever pixel in this game

Completed it last night. :( .

What a game though, no game has impressed me quite as much as this for a long time. In my mind its a perfect game, stylistically the most impressive thing I have ever seen on ANY system, graphically too, yeah it chugs at times but by right the PS2 shouldnt be capable of visuals like this.

The camera is not perfect, but in relation to the game I think it does actually work. You arent supposed to be able to pixel precision control yourself climbing onto these things, it adds to the game, the confusion and mayhem as to what the buggery you supposed to be doing.

Story was great too, ending cool. Theres a bit very near the end boss that made me choke a little...

10/10

I dont see a time attack mode, only hard mode - is this the time attack?

Freaking amazing game.

I'm on number 5 now, the sense of satisfaction defeating a colossus is great, but there is also a sense of dissapointment because it will never be the same beating that one again.
