Kind of a mid-1800's road trip film set during the American civil war, but an absorbing one all the same. Directed by Anthony Minghella, who also did The English Patient, I thought at times it was quite boring, but now I've watched it, I keep thinking about some of the things that happened, and how excellent the acting was.

I don't think Minghella has shot his best work yet, hopefully if this is the standard he sets, in a few years time his films will be mind-blowing.

I'd rather suck Satan's salty cock than watch this again, sorry Tom.

Thought it was horribly predictable with cardboard cut out characters. On the other hand my mother loved it and watches the DVD over and over again.

Its achingly long. You really just want it to end sooner. It's a good movie I suppose, but its just not good enough to justify being long.

Nicole Kidman's in it. Tbh, no-one should watch it based on that fact alone.

This man speaketh the truth. Although he forgot to add that said cock would also have herpes related sores.

Never have I watched such a dull, pointless work of cinema. Sometimes films make me cry for the wrong reasons.
