Cold Barrel Syndrome.

Guys,

got a bit of a ding dong going on the other forum I frequent which is getting a bit too far.

You all know the "cold barrel syndrome" in CS where the first few bullets of most guns are way off target ?. THe solution is to fire a couple of rounds and reload (guns like the deagle and sniper rifles)

Any of you got information or links to information which detail this cold barrel effect and when it was introduced in CS ?

I was under the impression it was a bug, not a feature.

After some testing, I have to say it only applies to certain guns, and firing and reloading does not always clear it.

Maybe I'll test a little more when I get home.

Well, I like those sniper rifles. Someone has to.

And it affects the deagle too. Then again, I can't look at your link, since my work seems to think it's porn. Must be the word blue in the title.

LOL, I think it effects all my guns, oh no, thats my lack of ability.

TBH, I never heard of that. :eek:

yeah i have heard of it, thats the reason i think for them idiots shooting everyone else as we all set off from the spawn point.
Oh that and just a natural ability to piss me off :)

Roughly translating what I said back :

Still going on - ill wait and see if anything juicy happens.

but take what he said and put it under my name save me Quote-ing. Cold barrel? i've had the Cant-hit-shit-from-an-inch-away-from-the-bastard syndrome but thats cause of the muscle spasms...

Ohh i have them all the time lol, mainly 2 reasons:

reason One:

Its feckin cold, and i start shiverin ,meanin i aint concentratin on the game

reason Two:

Its windy outside - and anythin that bangs scares the shit outta me, causin me to shit myself...

I h8 having cold hands playing CS... my aim goes to pot (like it wasn't already :rolleyes: ) and it looks like my monitor is having a fit when I try and track someone :(

Heh, I have found that having a quick wan.. I mean erm, coffee, yeah, that's right coffee, will get those ol'cold hands steady :p

Cold barrel syndrome is shit, CS is fine you dont have to waste ammo trying to zero your aim.

Yeah it's out of date though, if it was updated for 1.3 or even gets an update at 1.4 we could all talk abou the flaws in CS's netcode and have long forum discussions about how to overcome them.

Well Ive never heard it called cold barrel syndrome... but when I buy a Deagle I always fire off 2 or 3 shots cos they rarely go where I aim them... might be a client graphical glitch... but NiP always do the same thing in their demoes so who am I to argue.

(Not that I've played much CS since DoD2 came out)

i always fire off a couple of rounds at the start of the round with any gun I get, started off as just something i did, to make sure it all worked, but now its jus a habbit i guess :D

Well, this problem is real, though it is a bug rather than a feature.

Since no-one except me uses those rifles anyway, not really a problem.;)
