I did have that a lot a long time ago. I think a pipe must have been down cause it seemed to be only sites which wernt based in the UK.

The Inktomis are wank.
Try using webcache.bt.net:3128 as your proxy.
That may give better performance.

Although I use the bt webcache when the inktomis screw up, it's really shit for throughput. This may be intentionally done by BT, or a symptom of everyone using it
