Well, it's not exactly surprising. IT's just a moneymaking scheme like the rest, political tool etc.

But the thing is...people seem to need these. Svine flu, global warming, tobacco bans and so on. It makes the humans feel like a group, like they don't have to worry about their own problems when there's the "great evil" lurking.

I bet in the caveman times, the local t-rex was a community problem that kept us all in the "same spirit of things".

So, bullshit? Ofcourse.
Needed? Plausible.
