Clerics and different wps

Okay.. im playing a level 50 cleric. Champ level 3 at the moment so i can use all types of weapons.

So i decided to try out some different weapons against another chain using class.

As far as i know, slash is based only on strenght and so is crush.

First up im testing a 3.5 sec 100% quality mace on the other chain user, and as everyone knows chain is resistant to crush, and the damage varies from 60 to 90.

Then i switch to the 4.3 sec 100 % quality slasher. But what annoys me is that the 4.3 sec slasher only does around 35 - 65 max damage.

Then it hits me, my weaponskill sinks from around 640 to 209... but clerics doesn´t even spec in a special weapon class. Clerics doesn´t even spec in a weapon skill, so why does the weapon skill drop???

OMG! Nerf thrust Clerics!eleven!!
erm.. I would guess that you have some 'hidden weaponskill' that is based on Crush and when you swap to a different weapon type you don't get the benefit of that hidden weaponskill. If you have a CL3+ caster you could see if the same thing happens when you switch from a Staff to another weapon type. I'd test it on my Theurg but I'm really not that bored.

i tried a friarwannabie session with my RM. didnt hit mutch harder on greencon mobs with styles then without (looked cooler tho)

AR3, BoF3, Warguard, CL styles and then you can basically tank anything.

Before the Champoin expasion clerics could only use Crush and that is our base skill. However upon reaching CL2 u can wield any wep kind but not equily skilled. Hence the lower wep skill in slash/thrust
